The answer isn't a simple one, the CFMoto is a better bike. However, the Ninja 400 is a older bike, and there's a lot of mods, suspension settings, and aftermarket support for it that isn't there for the 450SSyet. There's also resale, and as you will likely hear from others "I'm not buying a Chinese bike!"

How does CFmoto stack up with the other popular brands. Local dealer has a good deal on a 500, atleast 3-4k cheaper than a similar Polaris Not looking for anything crazy, just another quad to ride the farm checking on animals etc Not going mudding or anything crazy
Many of the youtube videos are on the order of "this is good - you should buy it" but those are from people who review bikes as a youtube living, rather than real owners. And, of course, some of what they have to say is meaningful as they have access to so many motorcycles.
The 2023 CFMOTO 450SS is powered by a liquid-cooled DOHC 450cc parallel-Twin with a 270-degree crankshaft making a claimed 50 hp at 9,500 rpm and 28.8 lb-ft of torque at 7,600 rpm. The engine, which has an 11.5:1 compression ratio and Bosch EFI, is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip/assist clutch. CFMOTO says the 450SS is suited to city and
Shopped around a bit, saw that newer cfmoto stuff had a decent warranty and was reasonably well reviewed, and it was last year so new/used bigger name stuff was wildly overpriced. Ended up going with cfmoto for both, both bought brand new. 4 wheeler: bought a 500cc model from cfmoto.
Ive owned a grizzly punched out too 690 and a raptor 770. The grizzly is really a refined machine with a great motor. I picked up a 2022 cfmoto 1000 eps lx 2up yesterday. Ill have a better idea of the machine once i ride it fir a month, but so far with 79hp at the crank, my 1000 has balls and is really peppy.
Funnily enough the factory is next to KTMs factory and they do use Kawasaki parts as well as KTM. KTM has also started to use CF Moto designs and parts. In Australia CF Moto dealer support have been fantastic mainly due ot the fact the farming community have latched onto the buggies/side by side market. Thats why I originally went and had a look.
I'm sure this has been posted before but I love a good discussion. This 450 sport bike has absolutely avalanched with marketing. I've barely heard anything negative from almost any reviewer about it. On paper, it looks like an outstanding value. Allegedly they're built from the same factory putting (I believe) ktm low end machines together.
They have a beefy, wide stance that gives them the look of a true utility ATV. The bodywork and plastics are rugged but stylish. The tires and rims fit perfectly and the colors really pop. CFMoto has done an excellent job with the look of these ATVs, down to every last detail.
